A Beginner's Guide to Reading Music: Part I
(Notes, Rhythms, and the Musical Staff)
As a musician and educator I have always endeavored to educate as many individuals about music as possible. When my own course participants were learning about reading music I noticed a need for a resource, besides myself, that guides the user through the basics of reading music in a short amount of time. The courses that I developed do just that: break down the larger goal of reading music into smaller objectives. This first course in the 3-part series introduces the user to the concept of rhythm, a necessary first step on the journey to reading music.
